Sunflowers Forever!

After for searching for nearly 2 years for a sunflower field to photograph my little girl, I finally found one. Thanks so much to everyone that was looking for me. Also thanks to the three people that either called, tagged, or messaged me on Facebook to show me this!

Located in Burgaw, this lovely field is located at Old River Farms. If you've never visited there, I highly recommend them. While there you can get your in season nursery items for your yard, buy some local beef (it's incredible) or just hang out with some super nice folks, Mr. and Mrs. Lanier or their son Michael. They have lots of activities going on during the upcoming fall season, so give them a like on Facebook to keep up!

So, here's Jesse in her back to school outfit! She lasted a mere 10 minutes in the heat! Luckily I was able to capture a couple of good shots of her before it was unbearably hot. Can't wait to go back and capture more memories!

Who inspires me the most? | A Big Thank You!

I've been pulled aside more than a couple of times this week and told that my work has improved so much over the last six months or so. What an honor, really? You seriously took your time to phone me or email me your thoughts on MY work??? Wow, I'm so honored and humbled that you would even do that, for me!

I must give credit where credit is due. Yes, I do study and work hard at my job. I do take time out to try and learn something new every week, if at all possible. I mean afterall, this is what I get paid to do, I need to know what I'm doing to give you the best images possible!

I have more than a few favorite photographers that I follow. Susan Stripling, Cliff Mautner, Kevin Cook, and Michele Celentano. Never heard of them, well, you should go check them out! They are the reason I have improved so much over the last six months! I cannot say thank you enough to these 4 who have inspired me to be creative and to be who I want to be as a photographer. Yes, they are all different, and yes they are all great. I don't have my "one style" that I am known for (not that I'm known at all!) Because I love so many different styles, I think it's molded me into who I am. I have a ton of growing to do, and I'm looking forward to seeing who I am in another six months. 

Susan and Michele have given courses on Creative Live that I have taken and bought, I cannot tell you what an invaluable tool they have been.

So Thank You for the compliments that I have received, I'm truly blessed and thankful for them!

Three Horses| Girls Best Friends!

We had an awesome time this past week shooting over at a friends house with her horses. Here are some of my favorite photos from the session.
