The Dressing Room was started in 2009, at the time of the economic decline and I wanted to help brides feel beautiful by not sacrificing style for budget. We are a unique business because we sell gowns off the rack but we have several that can be ordered. We also have a selection of gowns for full figured women. We carry a collection by Ida Torez and Tina Valerdi which are not carried in any stores in NC. Most prices range from $75 to around $800.

What is the one thing about yourself that most people do not know?

For me, it is more of a hobby than a job because I have a teaching job that I work at full time. All monies are reinvested in inventory.

What advice would you give to Brides?

Advice: Because we are all unique, there is a dress for everyone no matter your shape or size. Be patient and have an open mind and shop at a store where you feel catered to.

Wedding Vendors and What to do while visiting| Beaufort NC

Beaufort is home to amazing sunsets, small town atmosphere, cute shops with homemade fudge, and wild horses....you'll soon fall in-love with this town. If you've recently become engaged in or near the Beaufort NC, you'll soon be searching for vendors! Venues:

The BoatHouse At Front Street Village- A spectacular waterfront venue located in historic Beaufort, NC. They offer amazing views of Shackleford Banks, the Carrot Island ponies and sunset views over Taylor's Creek. For more information, click their name above. They offer three spaces on the waterfront for weddings and events. They are also a full time "boathouse" as the name suggests, perfect for boating enthusiasts getting married.

Beaufort Historic Site

Located in the heart of historic Beaufort-by-the-Sea, a charming and picturesque coastal North Carolina seaport, the Beaufort Historic Site offers a spacious outdoor venue in which to hold your wedding, reception, or other memorable celebration! The Beaufort Historic Site transports guests back in time, offering not only the perfect setting for your celebration, but also tours and activities for guests of all ages. The two-acre site provides a beautiful backdrop for your celebration, whether under the shade of the magnolia trees or classic white tents, or inside the the  Carteret County Courthouse c. 1796, which has recently been restored in award-winning detail. In The Spotlight| Silverceiling Airbrush, Makeup & Hair

1) Hi! My name is Kelly Marie Farrell and I’m the Founder of Silverceiling, and a certified, NYC trained Airbrush Makeup Artist. I am also part of Dinair Airbrush Makeup’s Pro Team: working on fashion shows and workshops all over the country! I was just recently on set for TLC’s “Say Yes to the Prom” fashion show in NYC this past March!

Our company specializes in high definition, bridal airbrush makeup and hair styling. Airbrush (the new industry standard for weddings) makes the skin look super soft and smooth... and we airbrush everything from foundation, to contouring, to eye shadow and lipstick! Your makeup is guaranteed to stay in place all day and will be sweat/ humidity/ water proof. Our hairstylists are specifically trained in bridal, so they can really do any style you are looking for. With a team of 8, it makes it easy for us to custom-fit your stylist to the style you are looking for!

2. One thing about myself that most people don’t know: I am an insane dog lover!!! I have a toy Pomeranian that is more like my child than a dog. His name is Sir Oskar Reginald Charles and he is royalty. My dream is to have like 1,000 little white Pomeranians running around!!! I just love them!

3. What inspired you to become a Makeup Artist? It was ONE defining moment. My first job was at Ulta working as a Prestige Consultant. I had a customer that came in- her name was Sandy and I still talk to her! She came in looking for a foundation and stated: “Just pick me out something simple I know I have terrible skin and theirs not much I can do about it.” She had severe acne scarring and was not educated on how to cover it. After an hour in my chair and several skin treatments, primers, and a full face of makeup on… she looked in the mirror with tears in her eyes and said: “This is the first time in 15 years I’ve looked at myself and felt beautiful.” That moment was such an impact for me and that was when I realized: Wow. Makeup is powerful. I love making people feel great about themselves!

4.What makes you unique in comparison to other MUA? Certainly our custom-fit approach, and the fact that we use 100% Airbrush Makeup. We love seeing inspiration photos from our brides and using our creativity and artistry skills to really create their unique bridal look. We set all of our makeup with a waterproofing spray that requires little to no touch ups on the big day!

5. What's one piece of advice you like to give brides? My best advice is to really do your research on your vendors, and make sure you have a connection with them! To me responsiveness is incredibly important, and so is personality. You want to work with vendors that will make your day as easy and fun as possible!
