1. Please Share a little about you and your company.

I'm from Emerald Isle, I've been on the coast of NC my whole life. Minus a brief stint in the mountains (found a mountain man and got him to the coast!) but I came right back! I've been with my hubby for almost 12 years and we have two stunningly beautiful, silly kids. Up until just recently, I worked for a large vacation rental company, helping to grow their event department. Popular in destination weddings, renting large beach homes for vacation/wedding all in one. I also managed all of the events for a local hotel. Doing anywhere from 40-80 events per year! Tons of work, tons of experience. Priority shift in life when I realize my kids are growing fast and I'm missing so much if it. Things changed at work about the same time and it just made sense to leave and start my own business! Along came "Knot a Second Thought" Weddings and Events. I started the company in February and have hit the ground running! Over 30 events on the books for 2016 and getting calls and emails daily!! So thankful! I also started a non-profit called Flowers for Friends, a donation based organization that reuses and re-purposes donated flowers. You can read more about it on my website listed below.

2. What is the one thing about yourself that most people do not know?

I cry at every wedding. Usually during the vows or father/daughter dance. I'm such a sap. And I really love watching people enjoy a day filled with love and laughter!

3. What inspired you to become a Wedding Planner/Coordinator?

Honestly it kind of fell into my lap and I am so glad it did! I had no plans ever to do this! I went to school and studied psychology and art... But I feel like I still use what I learned in this filed of work!

4. What makes you unique in comparison to other Wedding Planner/Coordinators?

Hmmm. This is a good one.
I feel like it shows that I enjoy what I do. I get the job done in a professional, fun way. Don't be surprised if you see me on the dance floor, I won't leave you hangin' if you don't know the steps to the Cupid shuffle or the cha cha slide.

5. What's one piece of advice you like to give brides?

Don't think you can't afford a planner, right out of the gate. Ask. Let's chat about your vision. A chat doesn't cost anything!! We like to chat. Then we can decide what's best for you, what package, what budget. I'm honest, I'll be totally straightforward with you, just like I'd hope someone would be with me! I want you to have a great wedding. An amazing wedding!!

Say Hello to Donna Brown! She's owns Always Faithful Wedding Service...we've worked together for about a year and speaking from experience, she's got to be the nicest person on earth. Here's more about her and her business.

1. Please Share a little about you and your company.

I retired from Onslow County Schools in June of 2011. I have been married for 30 Years to Boyd. I started Always Faithful Wedding Chapel in 2012 in Jacksonville but started receiving more calls for on location services. We closed the Chapel and started providing on location services to the surrounding areas. I have always loved weddings, and what a blessing it is to officiate them!

2. What is the one thing about yourself that most people do not know?

One thing most people don't know about me is that I love to dance. What a surprise it is when the officiant hits the floor and gets down at a wedding!

3. What makes you unique in comparison to other Wedding Officiant's?

I get to know my couple's so they will be comfortable with me. I feel it is important because of family dynamics. I adapt to the couple's personalities easily and they are put at ease.

4. What's one piece of advice you like to give brides?

Be considerate of each others feelings. You cannot read each other's minds.

1. Please Share a little about you and your company.

I have been baking and creating for my friends, co-workers, and family for many years. I am a self-taught baker and cake artist. One day I would love to take classes to hone and perfect my skills and be taught by some of my favorites. When the opportunity came in 2011 to perform my passion full time I took it! It is a blessing to be able to create a gorgeous, fun, and creative centerpiece for your special occasions. Not to mention YUMMY!

2. What is the one thing about yourself that most people do not know?

One thing that most people do not know about me... hmm, I'd say that it would be that I wanted to fix up and flip houses before coming into cake baking. I've always enjoyed walking into a project that people might think is not worth the trouble and making it into something beautiful.

3. What inspired you to be a cake baker?

I lost my job in a corporate lay off back in 2011 and knew that I did not want to go back into that field. I was already the "resident Martha Stewart" for our building of about 350 employees. I started really making cakes for them on the side just for fun while working there and the baby showers, birthdays, etc within the office. What turned out to be my gift at the time is now my full time passion.

4. What makes you unique in comparison to other Bakery's?

Comparatively speaking, we do a lot more buttercream than fondant. While we enjoy working and creating with fondant, we LOVE butter cream. I notice more bakers though using fondant. That is one thing that makes us unique. A major thing that I think makes us unique is that we do not yet have formal training. We feel very blessed in our gift.

5. What's one piece of advice you like to give brides?

One piece of advice that I give to brides is not to wait to order your dream cake. And it is definitely NOT JUST cake. It MUST look good but it is a SIN if it doesn't taste good as well! We feel like that people come to the wedding for 2 things (although we might be a bit partial to this). People come to the wedding to see the bride in her gorgeous gown and to have cake! That is the first thing we notice people searching for when they enter the reception. Where is the cake?
