A few months ago, I photographed the gender reveal for this sweet baby girl, yesterday I finally got to meet her in person. What a beautiful little gem she was. She recently turned one month, and mom and dad are settling into a great routine with her. Here's a few images we captured yesterday! Her big brother Jackson was awesome too!

Let me start by saying how incredibly happy I am for my sweet friend Crystal! She definitely got an answered prayer with baby Lila Grace. I must say, after being her family photographer for a few years, that she is the most beautiful pregnant. She was glowing at our session this past Sunday on her family land overlooking the river. I'm thankful that I'll be there to capture her sweet face after she's born! I'm over the moon happy for all of them and cannot wait to see who she looks the most like. My vote is her gorgeous mommy, but as you can tell, they already made one beautiful child! Congratulations! I love you!

Milkbath Maternity Session

Milk Bath Maternity Session, How To|Treasured Moments Photography

August 04, 2016 by Tammy Barton in Family

This type of maternity session has been trending lately, so I wanted to give it a try since I loved all the other photos I've been seeing. This is my daughter, Hannah. She's pregnant with her third child, a girl! We're excited for her family to have a girl as she already has two boys, a little girl should prove to be an amazing adventure for them.

If you want to try this for yourself, here's how: You'll need 2 Gallons of WHOLE MILK and your favorite LIVE flowers. Artificial flowers tend to sink after getting wet.

We let the hot water run until about half full, added in the milk and the heads of the flowers we chose. We LOVE sunflowers and yellow roses, and that's going to be the theme of the baby's room, so that was appropriate for us. Place the subject into the water after testing that it's not too hot. We actually had to add in cold water because it was still too hot. Then cut off the heads of your flowers and place them in the position you like, you will most likely have to keep moving flowers and leaves around due to water movement.

For the lace, believe it or not, we used a lace curtain panel! You can use almost any type of material or lace that you have. If you don't have any, head over to the local fabric store and grab about 2 yards off a bolt.

Then start shooting!! We didn't use a flash or any extra fill light, but you may need to depending on the type of lighting you have in your bathroom.

When deciding to do a milk bath with an infant, I just want to encourage baby safety when photographing in the water. It’s the number-one priority during the shoot! Never leave a baby unattended; make sure the water level is not too high; and check that the water temperature is safe—all the usual rules apply. These sound like common sense, but things can get hectic during a session and you want to avoid risks. Source-Popular Photography
